An attractive Canton enamel bowl with everted rim, decorated with the bajixiang (Eight Precious Objects) in famille rose enamels on a turquoise ground, the base and interior enamelled white. Diameter: 12.3 cm. Early nineteenth century.

Excellent condition. Minor indistinct stress cracking to interior at rim.

An unusual small Chinese export octagonal platter decorated in underglaze blue and famille rose enamels with a lady punting, a leaping fish and in the background a castellated wharf with a mosque. Length: 26.2 cm. Qianlong, c. 1780.

Rim chip at lower right. No other faults.

Such mosques are said to be typical of the Coromandel coast of India ...click for details

A small celadon jade carving of a duck holding a lotus plant in its beak, the stone with black inclusions. Length: 5.4 cm. 17th cent.

Chip to tip of beak and another to the leaf just beneath the tail on the right hand side. There is also a damage to the left wing, probably along an existing fault line and probably another to the rear of the crest.

Staining and losses to reverse of mirror glass. No damage.
