A fine Japanese silver-inlaid bronze infant Buddha with a serene expression standing with one arm upraised, the other pointing downwards, on a lotus base. Height: 14.5 cm. Dated 1845.

A rare pair of Dutch decorated Chinese porcelain slop bowls enamelled with scenes of a lady dancing and a gentleman playing a wind instrument, while a black servant stands holding a bowl of fruit; in the background a distant town with a windmill, this vignette repeated on the interior. A Chinese lacquered pleated paper fan painted on one side with a typical reserve of figures in a terraced garden (the figures painted on fabric with bone faces) and to the reverse with pheasants and flowers, the eighteen sticks glided and lacquered.
