The upper surface of the stand is strangely bruised and rubbed in two areas ( see detail). No other faults.
Slight chips to rim, wear and superficial cracks to interior.
The original of this group is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, this being a museum copy, at some time mounted into a surround.
These food trays are chiefly made by the Intha people of Inle lake in Eastern Burma. A similar example is illustrated in Than Htun: Lacquerware Journeys, p. 212.
The print remains in excellent undamaged condition and has never been out of its frame.
