A collection of thirty bronze Ashanti gold weights of various forms, chiefly animals and power objects incl. mudfish, a key, drum, pipes, hatchets, bird, crab claw, knot, shield, snake…, the largest 6 cm. long. Also included: 2 thin embossed brass boxes for weights, one oval, the other cylindrical and embossed with a repeated design of locomotives and paddle steamers. Length: 6.5 cm. and 8 7 cm. As with the other weights listed, all these appear to be genuinely old. |
