Rare 18thC Kashmiri Huqqa Base
A fine copper and brass huqqa base, decorated in openwork with entwined waterplants, the form probably derived from a yak’s horn. Height: 19.6 cm. Baltistan, 18th cent.

Zebrowski illustrates two very similar huqqas from this remote mountainous region of Kashmir (pl. 417/8). There is a recorded example dated AH 1201 (1786-7 AD).
