Late 18thC German Pewter Tankard, Bohmer Dresden

An interesting German pewter tankard with wrigglework decoration of a shepherd and shepherdess and a fashionably-dressed man and woman, with domed foot and acorn finial. Inscribed: Dieses ist ein klein Geschenck, dabeij Sei meiner eingedenck/ ich werde nicht viel Ehre einlegen, doch wunsche ich euch von Gott den Segen. Touchmark for Johann Paul Bohmer ( fl.1752-1785) and Dresden city marks. Height: 9 ¾ in. Mid-late 18th century.

The cover has suffered a nasty split which has been unsuccessfully repaired with glue and needs fuller attention. A few shallow knocks to the body consistent with the age of the tankard. Low reserve because of the damage.
