A good Vienna porcelain cabinet plate enamelled with a huntsman, hawker and dogs watching a hawk attacking a stork, the dark green border heightened with gilding. Diameter: 9 ¾ in. Impressed marks 817 (for 1817) and 15. Exhibition label in the name of Hon. Ashley Ponsonby MP. Perfect condition. Gilding in excellent condition. Ponsonby was MP for Cirencester between 1852 and 1865 and later Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire. |
