A very attractive Paris porcelain baluster vase, the everted neck enamelled with pansies within gilt borders, the body with oval reserves of flowers and musical instruments on one side and the monogram of Marie Antoinette done in cornflowers (her favourite flower) below a coronet of roses on the other, with a border of wild poppies, cornflowers and grasses above a gilded pedestal foot. The base with the remains of the crowned gilt monogram CP (for Charles Philippe, Comte d’Artois). Height: 8 1/8 in. Late 18th cent.
