One matching pair of Japanese baluster shape vases with two applied scroll motif handles and decorated with precious metals and alloys. Kaga inlay and takazogan ( relief) techniques with mixed metals of silver, copper and gold. The vases, with large design of birds of Paradise, with female in flight on one vase and male perched on branch on the other vase, both among flowering gourd vines; and the reverse of each vase with morning glory together with smaller bird in flight...

Both with previous repairs, one with missing tooth but still of charming and fierce demeanor. Both on raised plinth. Late 19th/early 20th century. Measurements: H 13", L 11".

Medium green color with light and dark inclusions. The birds are solid and are able to stand on their own. Perhaps these are carvings of silver pheasants. Dated to the late 19th or early 20th century. Provenance: Acquired by family of current owner late 19th/early 20th century. Measurements: H 9", D 3.5".

With slender body, elongated neck, everted mouth rim and raised light celadon color base. The glaze thins to an ivory color around the lip. Rich, deep, luxurious and textured color. Late 19th/early 20th century. Provenance: Acquired in the early 1990s privately in Asia.

Exceptionally well modeled and adorned Ratanakosin/ Bangkok style bronze d'orée seated Buddha in royal attire on multi-tiered lotus throne. The Buddha has an especially serene face with down-cast eyes and a tightly curled head-dress and flame-topped ushnisha, wearing royal garments with scarf ending at his waist. All decorated in raised fashion with floral and leaf motifs...

This lamp was converted from a vase and has deep relief decoration with a dragon wrapping around the upper body, and a phoenix seated on rock formation on the lower half of the vase, paired together with a quail and lotus paddy. Sturdy bronze body with intricate carving. Meiji Period. Measurements: Stands 14 1/2" high. Provenance: Acquired in the 1960s.
