| Here is a fabulous compact just out of a Boston Estate. Measuring 2 1/2" W x 2" H x 3/8" D, and just loaded with compartments. First the enamel which is done in 3 sections... A gorgeous creamy white guilloche enamel is the base for the 3 sections with a soft yellow square in the center section. The design underneath looks like woven silk and there is even a floral design in a square which empahasizes the compact's center. Applied over this are hand painted roses and decorative leaves. These 3 sections look to be on silver or silver plated metal which is attached to a gilded brass or base metal. Each section opens to reveal what was essential in Art Deco Culture. The center section opens and there is a mirror and the original mesh screen for powder. The mirror opens to a photo holder for one's sweetie or could have been for a rouge pot also. Two lipstick drawers on either side slide to reveal their red lipsticks. Really handy and in all original fine condition! Marked LAMODE on inside lip of photo holder. Nice tight snaps, a few expected scuffs on the back due to age but nothing that really detracts from the beauty of this compact. I have not attempted to clean this compact and will leave this to the discretion of the new owner!
