| Intriguing pair of Mid century modern earrings by American Studio Modernist, Ed Levin (1921-2008). Actively working in NYC from 1950-1964 and then moving to Bennington, VT from 1964 to his passing in 2008. Levin's designs are unique in both concept and form. Great joy can be found in his designs through the use of unusual mechanics, the mixing of metals or play with movement. I love coming across his pieces. This is a pair of vintage concave silver disks with a seemingly floating triangle of 14K gold in each earring's center. They are soldered securely to the earring core clearly, but the use of oxidation in the silver's bowl gives us this illusion! Earrings are screwbacks, they measure 5/8" in diameter and are in excellent condition! Marked on reverse: STERLING, 14K and LEVIN in the early block print.
