According to family oral history, this pair of terracotta rabbits are a part of a group of figures from a rural burial site in Thailand, excavated in the 1960's. In very good condition with only wear at the corners of the rectangular bases and slight wear at the contact points. Size 5.75" X 2.5" X 2.5".

The markings on the ricasso seem to indicate that this very unusual Hunting Sword was made in the village of Tjikoreh, called today Chikorea, on the island of Java. This village is well known for producing quality edged weapons and were apparently often chosen by the Dutch Colonials for custom swords. A fine quality, antique brass Betel Nut Set with an intricate bas relief, modified lattice weave pattern on the lid. The rectangular box with beveled corners is attached to the circular lime box with a tightly woven band of silver metal chains to form an elegant personal set of a type carried by people of rank in a style we have not previously encountered. Box is 3.5" in length and 1.75" in width. Lime container is 1.5" in diameter and 2" in height. C1890
