From the provincial region of north western Burma, a standing figure with extended left hand. Probably an ancestor figure that would have resided on a household shrine. Carved of wood and lacquered with an undercoat of black and finished with gold gilt, of which only traces remain, the figure is further adorned with a wig of human hair. According to family oral history, this pair of terracotta rabbits are a part of a group of figures from a rural burial site in Thailand, excavated in the 1960's. In very good condition with only wear at the corners of the rectangular bases and slight wear at the contact points.

From the mid 20th century, a large polychrome dragon head with articulted lower jaw, for the Vietnamese Water Puppet Theater. Altough te once bright colors have faded with time and use, this attractive puppet fragment immediately attracts your eye. An early 20thC, standing Burmese Nobleman, who once adorned an architectural element or festival cart. The raised right hand probably held an implement, long since gone. None of the original lacquer finish remains, only a nice grey patina. On a metal display base H:15"x4"

With an engraved scene of two 1920's Soviet Biplanes in flight and personalized with initials in the upper left corner, this is a very seldom encountered early Soviet collectible. In very good condition with only very slight abrasion and minor dents from age and use. The interior bears assayers stamps and the 1927-1946 marks indicating 84 Zolotnicks of silver fineness.

A scarce, sterling quality silver cigarette case. The front with and engraved scene titled Moscow, Kremlin. The back with a personalized, war time presentation inscription which reads, "Army Aviator Petrov from his friends and comrades on land. 1942. The interior is gilt finish and both the lid and back bear the District Mint Mark of the type used from 1927-1946 along with the the district Assayers mark indicating a standard of fineness of 84 Zolotniks.

A piece of Russian history. A Soviet era sterling quality, silver cigarette case inscribed on the face "806th Air Force, Lutske 1942" in a banner with a floral surround. The hinge is sound and the lock button is ruby colored cabochon. Probably French, these cast silver buckles are unmarked. In the style favored on womens shoes at end of the 18th C and early 19th C. The buckles are mounted on hand forged metal fasteners which have patina and a small amount of light rust.
