From the provincial region of north western Burma, a standing figure with extended left hand. Probably an ancestor figure that would have resided on a household shrine. Carved of wood and lacquered with an undercoat of black and finished with gold gilt, of which only traces remain, the figure is further adorned with a wig of human hair. According to family oral history, this pair of terracotta rabbits are a part of a group of figures from a rural burial site in Thailand, excavated in the 1960's. In very good condition with only wear at the corners of the rectangular bases and slight wear at the contact points. Size 5.75" X 2.5" X 2.5".

With an engraved scene of two 1920's Soviet Biplanes in flight and personalized with initials in the upper left corner, this is a very seldom encountered early Soviet collectible. In very good condition with only very slight abrasion and minor dents from age and use. The interior bears assayers stamps and the 1927-1946 marks indicating 84 Zolotnicks of silver fineness. Probably French, these cast silver buckles are unmarked. In the style favored on womens shoes at end of the 18th C and early 19th C. The buckles are mounted on hand forged metal fasteners which have patina and a small amount of light rust. In very good condition. 2" x 1 7/8". 1780-1820
