| A custom tailored, Imperial Russian, Colonel of Railway Engineers frock coat. Wool with a velvet collar and silk lining. There are ten large silver buttons bearing the crest of Railway Engineers on the front, two smaller buttons on each of the sleeves and four large buttons on the back. The coat has a tailored port for a sword hanger as well as a tailored port for a badge or medal. The collar tabs bear the silver bullion three pips of a Colonel as well as the metal insignia of the Railway Engineers. The coat bears a Moscow tailors label with the name M&J Mandel along with the Imperial Crest. There is no mothing and only very light soiling which should clean nicely. Excellent and original with only the loss of the Railway Engineers insignia on two of the sleeve buttons (as shown) and slight wear to the collar tabs at the bottom edge. C1890-95. The coat is 41" in length. A very desirable piece of Russian history | |||||||||||||
