Rodell Johnson, American, was born in Minnesota. He attended Stanford University, earning a degree in education and graphic arts. Johnson served in the military and was the chief of the animation branch. Later he joined the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. He worked for shows such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Bambi, and Dumbo and also animated several Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck shorts. Johnson then moved to New York to animate TV commercials and motion pictures. His love of New York inspired him to illustrate many of the city's landmarks and buildings.

In 1989 Chen and his wife immigrated to America where he translated his love for the U.S. into art that reflects his deep feelings for the busy cities, beautiful countryside and national parks. He began his artistic career after finally settling in California.
Bragg's works satirize the nature of the society he views. He is one of America's "foremost social satire artists."
