Title: Rocket Artist: Raymond Loewy Medium: serigraph on paper Size with border: 22" x 28" Edition: 148/300 This is a limited edition, hand signed and numbered, unframed lithograph by Raymond Loewy. It is in excellent condition. Raymond Loewy (1893-1986) was born in France and immigrated to America in 1919. He worked as a shop window decorator for Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy's and drew fashions for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Vanity Fair. In 1929 Loewy opened a practice in industrial design. He became one of the top industrial designers in America, designing for Coca Cola, Lucky Strike, the US Postal Service, Frigidaire, SkyLab, Exxon, Studebaker (designing the Avanti in the early 1960s), the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. and many other well known companies. During the 1960s and 1970s he advised US administrations, redesigning Air Force One for John F. Kennedy. His career spanned seven decades.
