It is hand signed and is in excellent condition. Charlie Hewitt, American, (1946 - ), was born in Lewiston, Maine. A painter and printmaker, Hewitt's primary exploration is the abstraction of line and shape. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions across the United States. Hewitt has received awards from the New York State Foundation for the Arts and the New York Council on the Arts. His works are in the public collections of the Whitney Museum of American art in NYC, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the Portland Museum of Art in Portland, ME as well as many other museums and collections.
