Antique Sterling SILVER Card Case 19th C
This is a very attractive Sterling silver card case with elaborately decorated floral motif on both side.
The case is hallmarked and according to my reading this item was manufactured by Whiting Manufacturing Company, New York, New York
1866-1926 a major manufacturer of full line of quality flatware and hallo ware that was absorbed into Gorham in 1926. It bears the name
Bertha engraved on it, and that tells us it was a gifted item. The artist's workmanship on this item is just fabulous.
Size: The case's Measurements are 3.5"L X 2.5"W.
Condition: The case is in fairly good condition with a few dings. and according to hallmark belongs to last quarter of 19th century. Keep in
mind that all our items are secondhand and therefore there are always slight signs of gentle use.
