Pr. of Ottoman Empire Silver Vase, 19th C.
Introduction: The Ottoman Empire (1299-1922) was the last of a series of Turkish Muslim empires. It spread from Asia minor beginning about 1300, eventually encompassing most of the Middle East, most of North Africa, and parts of Europe, including modern Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia. The empire gained their technical knowledge from Europe and were heavily influenced by Persian culture in the area of literature, art and architecture. Description: This beautiful and stunning pair of vases was advertised as Persian, after receiving them, I noticed the Ottoman Empire seal "Toghra" engraved on the bottom of both vases and also the silver mark of "900" contrary to Persian silver mark of "84". Both items are in perfect condition with height of 7-1/4 inches. Shipping is FREE within the U.S.
