18th c. Persian Dagger
The Zand dynasty (formally known as the Zandieh dynasty) ruled southern and central Iran (17501794) in the 18th century. The hilt and scabbard feature figural and floral pattern, each side of hilt and scabbard bears car-touche of Zandieh prince, the lightly curved double edged blade has Quranic verses inscription on each side and birds cartouche is visible on each side pf forte. Size: Overall length of dagger, including scabbard, is 17.5 inches. Condition Report: Good condition with age wear to engravings.
