Thomas Curtin's Landscape Paintings
"The New England Landscape Paintings of Thomas R. Curtin, 1899-1977."
Now on exhibit in our gallery are a dozen works by the Massachusetts/Vermont painter Thomas Curtin. Search our on-line Gallery for a sampling of these paintings. Thomas Curtin was an American Impressionist, born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, who painted in Cape Ann and then, from 1943, in Vermont, where he is known for his landscape paintings, and, most especially, for his winter scenes. He was friends with his contemporaries, John F. Carlson, Emile Gruppe and Aldro Hibbard. He studied at the prestigious National Academy of Design and the Art Students League, both in New York City.
