Vermont Victorian oak fireplace mantelpiece and overmantel. Circa 1880-1900. Size: 60 inches width x 90 5/8 inches height x 12 inches depth. This ornate fireplace with mirror back was removed from a Victorian residence in Rutland, Vermont. It is entirely original and includes the mantelpiece with carved floral corner spandrels and transom, which features a 36 inches height x 41 inches fireplace opening. Also included are the 16 original 6 inches square blue floral ceramic tiles that form the fireplace surround. Supported by the mantelpiece is an elaborate mirrored overmantel with 5 beveled mirror glass panels and delicate, pierced lattice trim, which is in turn supported by finely turned pillars. Condition: minor scuffing, some smoke residue to underside of mantel and minor seam separation to mantel support boards at base. Could use a good cleaning and polishing. As found condition with no breaks.
