|A rare Scottish dirk adorned with sterling silver mounts engraved with a Celtic interlaced design. The handle grip is carved from dark wood with an woven pattern and set with a large yellow, faceted Cairngorm as the pommel. Edinburgh, 1905-06, by Young and Tattan. This dirk is complete with its leather sheath containing a two-tine steel fork and smaller knife mounted in a similar fashion with Cairngorm pommels. Condition is very good to excellent, with some minor staining to the steel blade. The carved wood handle and leather of the sheath are free of cracks or splits. The silver mounts on the sheath are hallmarked for Edinburgh, 1905, together with the maker's mark 'Y&T', and a separate stamp for the retailer 'Scott Adie, Regent St., London'. Dimensions: 17" overall in sheath; dirk measures 16" (11" blade).|
