Small portable altar representing Buddha in relief backed by an aureola. Buddha is shown sitting cross-legged on a circular throne, his hands in meditation posture. The altar is made of bronze, and has a beautiful dark-green and reddish patina (a sign of great age). The piece was cast in China, during the Northern Wei Dynasty period (386-534 A.D.). Height: 1 7/8" (4,7 cm). Nicely mounted on a plexi stand. Strong erosion due to age, otherwise very good condition.
