Chinese Ink and Watercolor Lotus Painting

INK AND WATERCOLOR PAINTING, 35 3/8" x 15 1/4", nearly the full sheet of what appears to be handmade paper, signed (in Chinese) "Lee Shan" center left margin, laid down on board, this in turn mounted on linen-covered board. Two short tears in the blank, upper margin; two small areas (3/8" diameter, 3/4" diameter) of what appear to be paper replacement near these tears (in the blank margins, that is), these repairs probably contemporary with the mounting of the painting on board; small areas of either staining or natural discoloration to two of the lotus blossoms; some slight wrinkling. Unframed. An elegant painting of the classic lotus, probably late nineteenth century or early twentieth century.
