| THAI PAINTING. Watercolor and ink on card, 11" x 8" (281 x 203mm.)(image and sheet), the six partially nude women outside under a projecting, sloping roof tending a large container of food or liquid over a wood fire and engaged in conversation; indoors, in the upstairs portion of the house, a man and a seventh woman lavish themselves upon each other. Old horizontal crease through the center of the sheet; the photograph here of the verso of the sheet shows this crease, which is in fact a fold integral to it, that is, it was present before the drawing was made. Taped on the verso to the linen-lined mount. The verso of the sheet bears a text that we doubt is related to the drawing. Unframed. No date. A label on the frame formerly housing this drawing reads in part, "Sura Wongse Gallery (Gallery and Framing)...Bangkok, Thailand..." | |||||
