An Unusual, Tibetan Dorje, 19th Century

A very rare Tibetain ritual instrument named dorje. Dorje means "thunderbolt" and it symbolized indestructible and represents masculine. It has the power to cut through illusions and exorcise negative energies. Extremely powerful ritual tools used most often by Tibetan lamas. This important piece is skillfully carved from a solid wood. The patina can demonstrate the age of the piece. It can be dated to middle 19th Century.

Excellent condition with some age wears.

Length 11 3/4 inch (29.5 cm)
