A Chinese Wood Sculpture, Late 19th – 20th Century

A skillfully carved Spruce wood sculpture of a grandmother and her grandson, made from Hong Du Shan Mu (A typed of Chinese spruce wood). The Chinese character – ‘Shou’ – on the back of the Grandmother’s chair means ‘longevity’. Excellent condition beside of a minor restore on the stone mill handle.

Late 19th – early 20th century, from Jiangsu Province, Southern China.
