| This is a tremendous glass and dates to c1765. An opaque twist goblet with a capacious ovoid bowl mounted on a double series opaque twist stem comprising an inner lace twist and a pair of eight ply outer spiral bands; leading to a wide and substantial conical foot with rough pontil. Lead glass. There is a slight lift to the edge of the foot at two points on the rim on opposite sides. This is most probably where the foot touched something during production or perhaps caused by sagging; again during production. The foot is entirely original.
