| A large Georgian wine glass or small goblet dating to c1730-40. The large waisted bell bowl with solid base containing a well positioned and formed tear. A sturdy plain stem atop a conical folded foot with rough pontil. Lead glass. Perfect and an excellent example . Height: 7” Rim Diameter: 3” Foot Diameter: 3 3/16” The solid bowl base with tear is a carry-over from the baluster period and marks this glass out as an early example. Please note that the dark mark evident in the foot photo is a refracted shadow; there are no dark areas actually on the foot. | ||
