| A Georgian light baluster or balustroid wine glass dating to c1735-40. A very wide and flared bell bowl with solid base; above a multi-knop stem; comprising an annular knop over a partially hollow inverted baluster over a basal knop. A conical folded foot with rough pontil. Highly striated lead glass with a very dark blackish tone to the metal. A few small specks typical of the period, other than that, fine. Height: 6 1/2” Rim Diameter: 3” Foot Diameter: Just under 2 15/16” A very elegant and large glass from late in the baluster period. | ||
