C1750 Rare Georgian Knopped Oversewn Foot Dram Glass
A rare Georgian dram glass dating to c1750. The ogee bowl lightly ribbed; the stem with a rare medial knop. Finished with an oversewn foot with rough pontil. Lead glass and in good condition; with an un-burst bubble to the foot. Height: Just over 4” Rim Diameter: 1 3/4” Foot Diameter: 2 3/8” The common form for an oversewn foot glass has a ribbed ovoid bowl and plain stem. Terraced foot glasses are seen with this bowl type and a plain stem. The combination of the ogee ribbed bowl and in particular the knopped stem makes for a rare glass.
