| An English Georgian ale glass dating to C1750-60. A tall round funnel bowl above a particularly finely worked multiple spiral air twist stem; mounted on a conical foot with rough pontil. English lead glass and in great condition; lovely bright metal. The stem is mounted on the foot a little inaccurately causing a ‘lean’; as you can see though, the glass displays well. A collector’s painted letter to the pontil. Height: 7 7/8” Rim: Just over 2 ¼” Foot: Just over 3” A similar glass with hops & barley engraving can be seen at plate 406 in Bickerton. | ||
