| Antique Shaker wooden steps that were used by Shaker women when they were sitting and doing hand work in their laps. This stool provided different heights of their leg without crossing their legs. They knew back in the 1830's and 40's that it was not good for the circulation in their legs to sit long periods of time with one leg resting on the other. Now these steps are such a nice small size they make wonderful display on a counter or chest. They are only 9" tall by 9 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. There is a reinforcement piece of wood on the inside of the steps...please see pictures. This is a solid little step stool with lots of history. | ||
