| A very appealing to the eye certificate on early rag paper. It is 5 1/2" x 6 1/2",and is a single page. Lyndeborough, ( N.H.) Has been folded. Light brown ink with simple vine and line border similar to English ceramics of the period. Small edge tears, top left corner slightly rough. One or two spots of foxing. The text reads: " Lyndeborough, Mar. 1st., 1823, This certifies that the bearer, Abigail W. Jones, is, in my opinion, well qualified in every respect to instruct children and youth, in all those branches of learning, usually taught by Females. (signed) Nathan Colburn." | ||
