This great black doll is no nonsense and in a hurry. She has her draw string purse in her right hand. Her dress is original and made from an early and very nice red kerchief. Under her dress she has a starched petticoat and a pair of bloomers. Over her dress she has a white apron. Her face is embroidered with elaborate sewing for her eyes and then straight stitches for her U shaped nose and straight line for her mouth. She has a bandana on her head that covers most of the horse hair used for her hair. It is very effective and gives her a quiet sweetness. She has brass earrings on both sides of her head. Her arms and legs are continuous with her body so she sits but it is a forced sit. She is stuffed with very firmly with cotton. She is all original and is a very nice example of a 1910 homemade black cloth doll.
