A very early black cloth doll, all hand sewn with tiny stitches. She has shoe button eyes, a pinched raised nose and a raised embroidered mouth. She is constructed with a fine black polished cotton fabric. She a nicely shaped body that is stuffed firmly with cotton. She has a wooden stick that holds her head firmly in place but over the years it has slipped a little and caused her head to tip a little to the left. (Maybe her past owner was a pain in the neck.) She has on an early black and off white cotton dress that is all hand sewn and a blue polka dot apron again hand sewn. Her arms and legs are jointed. Her hair is the early nice astrakhan fabric. She is 19" tall and is circa 1880.
