A very nice unusual black milliners doll with a very early tan leather body, wooden arms and legs and a papier mache head and shoulders. She is 12" tall. Her dress is all raw silk as are her pantaloons and petticoat. The bottom part of her legs are painted blue to look like fashion boots. Her wooden hands are the early spoon look with a separate thumb and slight indication of fingers. She has two tags with history as follows Metiulously crafted/formal C1820-40 Black Milliner;s Model Doll. Hands/feet resmble wooden types following Queen Anne Types. Lovely tan leather body (hand sewn). Acquired Chicago UFDC Convention 1993 for $950, (reduced from $1050.00) In Cases Special Exhibit 1995 Philadelphia Convention by owner. These tags come with her as well as an old auction tag from Garth's Auctions in Ohio.
