A really nice topsy turvy doll all hand sewn with a unique feature. The arms on each doll are made a little bit longer and serve as feet. It is so clever and simple idea yet I have never seen it done. She is stockinette and old calico fabric. She is very soft from lots of play time. She is a little soiled but not bad. Her black face has nice detail with a raised nose and stitched eyes and mouth. The white doll has a raised nose and drawn eyes and eyebrows and no sign of the mouth but there are red smudges. This doll had to be a great comfort to some child as she feels so soft and wonderful to hold. Circa 1890-1900 and 12" top of head to top of head. Please take time to look at how the arms work as feet.
