| Handel obverse and reverse painted table lamp decorated on a chipped ice conical shade with a border of multi dimensional trumpet daffodils and radiating vertical leaves. The interior of shade is inscribed "Handel 5645" and bearing the initial "R" for William Runge, believed by many to be one of Handel's finest decorators. The shade width is 18" and is in excellent condition with no damage whatsoever. The lamp can be referenced in the Hibel/Fontaine book on Handel Lamps, pg. 126, and dates to 1911 per Handel's lamp shade design numbering system making this one of the earliest surviving Handel table lamps. | |
