| Wonderful Weller Dickensware American Indian tapered vase measuring 10" tall and 4" wide. The vase is carved and painted and inscribed "Wolf Robe". Wolf Robe was chief of the southern Cheyenne tribe in the 1870's. In 1876 the Cheyenne joined the Sioux to fight at Little Bighorn. It is believed that Chief Wolf Robe in his later years was the Native American whose profile appears on the American "Indian Head Nickel". An historic and monumental piece from a great pottery maker. | |
