This well carved nephrite jade pebble has a low relief boy holding a double lotus stem. The stem curves back over his shoulder and arm to end in a large lotus leaf, bud and a seedpod on his back. The stone is of grayish-white translucent tone, with the seedpod having an area of opaque white. It dates to the 19th century. Measurements are 2cm thick X 6cm X 5.5cm.

Attractively decorated with women in gardens and a phoenix and peacock, this Canton enamel vase is not marked but dates to the 19th century. It measures 9.3cm high X 5cm X 3.3cm, or 3.75 inches X 2 inches X 1.25 inches. There is very slight wear to the enamel and a small crack, visible in one image.

Based on a chrysanthemum flower pattern, this Yixing teapot bears blue, white and pink enamel designs of fur gods, clouds and floral sprays along with a brief inscription. It dates to the late 19th century and measures 14.5cm high X 21cm wide, or 5.5 inches X 8.3 inches. It has not been cleaned on the exterior, so extensive areas of dark material remain. The knob on the lid's top probably was made separately. There is a chip to the lid's rim and enamel wear overall.

A pair of satin stitch and couched metal thread embroidered rank badges, apparently never mounted on a robe, circa 1880. Each depicts a tiger-cat on a rock over waves, with shrimp, fish, emblems, bats and endless knots. According to John Vollmer this animal signifies and sixth and seventh military rank in the Ch'ing government system. They measure 28cm high X 55cm long, or 11" X 21.5"...

These pottery cups designs were based on bronze or lacquer models now termed ear cups. To achieve the green effect they were molded and then lead glazed. They date to the Han dynasty, approximately 100 B.C. to 100 A.D. Measurements are 4.5cm high X 12.7cm wide X 10.9cm deep. Each has white calcium adhesions and slight amounts of iridescence, all from burial. There are small areas of glaze gapping but no cracks or chips...

Each 19th century export painting depicts a woman seated at a table and with a bamboo spray extending in from one side; one with a pipe and the second with a fan. Both have apparently original rosewood frames. One work is inscribed on the back "Brought from China in 1936 without duty, except for the frames. They said were not 125 years old as the pictures are. Helen Baker". Each measures 57.8cm high X 43cm wide...

A pair of Chinese porcelain globular jars, each decorated with 100 boys at play in famille-rose enamels, c.1880. Each measures 20.5 cm high X 21 cm diameter or 8" X 8 1/4" and has a Kangxi mark on its base. Each has a fitted wood stand and a matching lid. One lid has repaired breaks and both stands have reglued areas.

This nicely decorated Chinese porcelain sleeve vase is part of the Hatcher cargo sold in Amsterdam many years ago. It dates to about 1650 and is undamaged. The surface is slightly matte due to immersion and there are some faint brown marks on the interior of the vase's throat. It measures 21.1cm high. It is part of an old Pacific Northwest collection.

A well patinated Chinese bronze vase imitating a bronze age Hu, dating to about 1800. It measures 42.1cm high X 30cm X 23cm or 16 1/2" X 12" X 9" and has a very dark brown patina with applied areas of green and red to imitate burial patina. The low relief design with birds, dragons and monster masks is not accurate for such designs on ancient bronzes, so there is some chance it was not made to deceive but as an antiquarian object...

This well cast Chinese bronze tripod censer with body shaped as six conjoined cyma curves dates to about 1700. Two curved handles rise from the flat rim and short neck. The unmarked censer measures 8.5cm high X 12.7cm wide, or 3.3 inches X 4.75 inches. It has a nice patina now, but probably once was polished about 50-100 years ago. There is no damage other than a small nick to the rim's interior about 2mm wide. Metal color is somewhat darker than seen in the images.

Carved in relief with rock, peony, orchid and a bird, this dark transparent red bowl dates to the 19th century. It measures 7.5cm high X 16.7cm diameter, or 3" X 6 1/2". It comes with a good quality fitted wood stand. The small areas above the stand are quake hold material. There is a bubble below the glass surface at the rim and a tiny 1mm rim chip. A transparent blue glass bottle-vase with incised four character Guangxu mark on the base, and of the period. Measuring 20cm high or 8 inches, the bottle is part of an estate which has a large number of Chinese glass items collected before 1980. The base has numerous shallow scratches and the rim's upper surface has a surface fracture visible in an image. This bottle vase and a few other items offered here are being sold to benefit the Seattle Art Museum.

Carved in low relief with a dragon amid clouds, this 19th century inkstone has an inscription incised into its base. It case is hung-mu, or hongmu, heavily stained and with a short rim crack from long use. It measures 18cm X 14.5cm X 3cm thick without the case, or 7 inches X 5 3/4 inches X 1 1/8 inches.
