Each dish is decorated in underglaze cobalt-blue design of a carp leaping from waves, Two sides show reeds and water. Dating is circa 1850, with dimensions 3.5cm high X 15cm X 11.5cm. One dish has a slightly creamier glaze than the other three. There are slight grit adesions on each dish.

Each bronze vase is onlaid in silver, gold, shakudo and copper hibiscus, bellflower and chrysanthemum and with three birds in flight. The incised signature on each base reads Murakami. Measurements are 18.5cm high each vase. Dating is circa 1880 There are small round spots on the sides which may indicate raindrops. There are light areas of wear on some relief areas.

This Satsuma pottery teapot is inscribed Seiyu... and Heishu sei and with a seal. It bears enameled designs of late summer and autumn flowers and grasses and probably was made for the domestic Japanese market rather than for export. Dating is circa 1870. Measurments are 8.5cm H X 13.4cm W. There is light wear to the gold decoration and light staining from use.

A Japanese pottery incense burner, Ninsei mark, circa 1800. It bears enamels design of a kylin and a a scholar and servant within two shaped panels, divided by scrolls. The apocryphal Ninsei mark is impressed in the base. Height is 11.8cm, width 11cm. This censer has been used, so there is light staining on the lid and a small replaced chip on the base's rim.

A Satsuma pottery vase enameled with two shishi, peony sprays and cords and a ball, circa 1870. It measures 15cm high and has a small and indistinct impressed mark on its base which may read Kozan. There is light rubbing to the gilding in a few areas.

This small Satsuma pottery vase is enameled with a wrapped koto, chrysanthemums, an inkstone and brush, two scrolls and an open book. It is inscribed Koki Kumagai sei, Kuyokusho shi. It measures 9.5cm high and dates to about 1870. There is light wear to enamels on the shoulder, visible in an image. This vase probably was made for Japanese domestic use rather than for export.

A fan depicting plover in flight over waves and in front of a giant sun, circa 1700. The fan itself measures 26cm high X 51cm wide, and is framed and glazed with non-reflective glass. This fan was used so there are creases where folded. Gofun is missing from six of the birds.

An unusual subject of a giant sun rising from waves with airborne shellfish, all against a gold ground. Framed and glazed with non-reflective glass, this fan is mounted on a greenish toned silk background. It dates to about 1700 and measures 26cm high X 52cm wide, with the frame 37cm X 64cm. This fan was used, so there are creases where it was folded. A few of the shells have losses to the gofun covering them.

Using a stencil, the decorator of this Japanese Seto oil plate blew iron-brown onto its surface to create the crane in reserve and the abstract spatter pattern. It dates to c. 1850-1870 and measures 21.5cm diameter. There are a number of tiny chips on the rim's edge.

This Japanese Seto stoneware oil plate is decorated in iron brown with chrysanthemums amid waves and a butterfly. It measures 22.3cm diameter and dates to about 1850. There is the usual staining and a small rim chip along with an exterior star crack at the base. These plates were used in lamps to catch drippings from lighting devices.

A finely decorated Kakiemon plate with piecrust rim and five-color enamel decoration, c. 1700-1725. The design shows chrysanthemum sprays floating in water with birds in flight, with a plain obverse. It measures 19.8cm diameter X 2.5cm high. There is no damage, but slight areas of rubbing to the enamels from stacking.

Bearing remnants of natural ash glaze, this unusual cup probably comes from the Paekche kingdom. It has three keyhole shaped slots in its tapering pedestal base and a loop handle on one side. Dating is c. 450 A.D.. It is 11.8cm high X 12.8cm W. There are small chips on the footrim, otherwise no damage.
