A 20.3cm (8") Japanese Seto stoneware plate decorated in iron-brown with horse eye spirals around the cavetto. The rim has a thick wash of iron-brown dripping in places onto the interior. It dates to the mid 19th century. Condition: small rim chip, three firing spur marks, long hairline crack and a short hairline crack from rim, darkened from use.

This Seto plate is decorated in underglaze blue and iron brown with a cherry spray, the character for cuckoo (hototogisu), and what probably are pine needles. It dates to circa 1850 and measures 10.25 inches or 26cm diameter. There is a 1cm chip to the rim and five firing spur marks in the center.
