A well patinated Chinese bronze vase imitating a bronze age Hu, dating to about 1800. It measures 42.1cm high X 30cm X 23cm or 16 1/2" X 12" X 9" and has a very dark brown patina with applied areas of green and red to imitate burial patina. This 24 pound bronze swivel cannon is the type usually called a lantaka. These small cannon were made in various parts of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, supposedly for anti-pirate use. This model has a 7/8 inch bore and measures 28 3/4 inches long. It has an old stand, no doubt somewhat newer than the cannon itself. Low relief ornamentation and the nice old patina can be seen in closeup images.
