This bronze head of a Luohan comes from an old Colorado collection, acquired in the 1960's. It dates to about 1500 and measures 14cm high X 9cm wide, or 5 1/2" X 3 1/2". There is a fitted wood stand. It has a good old patina, somewhat darker than seen in the images. The neck has an uneven edge where broken from a figure and there is a small hole, about .5cm behind one ear.

Dating to the mid to late Ming dynasty, this bronze head of a Luohan measures 14cm high X 9cm wide, or 5 1/2" X 3 1/2". The patina is somewhat darker than shown in the attached images. There is an uneven break line at the neck where the head was separated from the figure's body and a very small possibly original hole near one ear. It comes with a fitted wood stand. Provenance is by descent to a Pacific Northwest collection from an old Colorado collection.

Carved in relief with rock, peony, orchid and a bird, this dark transparent red bowl dates to the 19th century. It measures 7.5cm high X 16.7cm diameter, or 3" X 6 1/2". It comes with a good quality fitted wood stand. The small areas above the stand are quake hold material. There is a bubble below the glass surface at the rim and a tiny 1mm rim chip. With relief kylin, dragon and tiger motifs, this censer dates to c. 1875. The lid is engraved and pierced with flame tendrils and the interior has a liner pierced with a narrow band of bars and dots just below its rim. The arched body is raised on four small scroll feet. Measurements are 19cm high X 18cm wide X 11cm deep, or 7 1/2" X 7" X 4 1/4". The surface has been left alone, so there is old dirt and soot in areas, but this censer does not appear ever to have had a patina polished away...

This Chinese monochrome blue vase has two relief mask and ring handles bearing a wash of purple and a tan gloss on the unglazed base. Its tone is the mazarine blue popular among French collectors of Chinese export porcelain in the 18th century. It dates to the 19th century and measures 22.4cm high, or 8 3/4 inches. There is the remnant of an old sticker on its base. There is no damage.

This 24 pound bronze swivel cannon is the type usually called a lantaka. These small cannon were made in various parts of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, supposedly for anti-pirate use. This model has a 7/8 inch bore and measures 28 3/4 inches long. It has an old stand, no doubt somewhat newer than the cannon itself. Low relief ornamentation and the nice old patina can be seen in closeup images.

This Tibetan tanka, now framed, is painted in colors on cloth and depicts Marici in a cart being pulled by seven pigs. It measures 45cm high X 36cm wide for the image and 67.5cm high x 58.5cm wide overall to include the frame. There is surface soiling and oxidization to the pigments and two small surface scratches. It dates to the 18th century. It is one of a number of items from an estate being sold to benefit the Seattle Art Museum.

A graduated set of three Korean papier-mâché or paper maché boxes, circa 1900. Each has a decoupage design of yin-yang symbols on top, sides and ends and is lined with paper on the interior with stamped designs in blue. Measurements range from 11cm high X 43cm X 25.5cm to 9cm high X 34.2cm X 18cm, or 4 1/4" X 17" X 10" to 3 1/2" X 13 1/2" X 7". There is overall darkening to the surface of the larges box, small damages and repairs and tiny paint drips on it as well...

A transparent blue glass bottle-vase with incised four character Guangxu mark on the base, and of the period.
Measuring 20cm high or 8 inches, the bottle is part of an estate which has a large number of Chinese glass items collected before 1980. The base has numerous shallow scratches and the rim's upper surface has a surface fracture visible in an image. This bottle vase and a few other items offered here are being sold to benefit the Seattle Art Museum.

Made of rosewood (hung-mu), this vanity chest's top opens to reveal a folding mirror and its front swings open for access to the inner drawers and two sliding compartment lids. The front base, mirror frame and four drawer faces are inlaid with mother-of-pearl floral devices. The various hinges and hasps are engraved. Decorated in underglaze blue with a dragon amid clouds, this Chinese plate dates to the early 19th century. It measures 23cm or 9 inches in diameter. The base is unglazed. Despite its resemblance to Korean porcelain, this definitely is a Chinese object.
