| This striking Korean folk painting represents one of the Confucian virtues, with a character, fish, bamboo shoot, paulownia tree and two phoenix. It is painted in ink and bright colors on paper and is now framed. It dates to the early 20th century, and was once part of a screen that was dismantled when its owner moved from Korea. Measurements are 34 1/2 inches X 11 1/4 inches (88cm X 28.5cm), or 42" X 16" (107cm X 40.8cm) with frame. It and others in this set have various stains and a few areas of foxing. Some staining is visible at the top of this work. | ||
