The oval sapphire measures ~8x6mm. The sapphire is deep, with a rounded faceted bottom. According to the owner, this is the sapphire that came with the ring ... so it is an older sapphire with a rounded belly. Sapphires are heavier than diamonds ... so this sapphire probably weighs 1.5 - 2.0 carat.

Its color is a beautiful rich medium blue (not navy or black). At normal wearing range, it is very eye-clean and clear. However, at very close proximity and at a certain angle, naturally occurring blemishes (strata, silk, slight color variances) found in sapphires can be seen. There are tiny fleabite chips around the edges that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

The two genuine diamonds are beautifully cut baguettes that are about .15 carat each. They are ultra clean and colorles ... app. VS clarity and F color.

This ring was purchased 4 years ago from a 93 year old lady from New York City. She kept the matching baguette guards. This ring is in very good condition. There are marks at the bottom of the band from placing the hand on surfaces. Your jeweler can buff that clean ... although they will re-appear as you start wearing the ring daily.
