| Wonderful pair of sterling silver salt spoons by Hester Bateman circa 1775.They measure approximately 3 3/4 long and have the sweetest little seashell bowl. The handles have a nice gadroon decoration and are slightly bent downward. They are monogramed with the letters W R S.Marks include H.B. That is for Hester Bateman and the walking lion that is standard for sterling silver. One of the bowls has some light pitting but fot the age they are in excellent condition. Hester Bateman is the most well known of all woman silversmith. | |||||||||||||
