Chinese export porcelain mug, with handle, on foot rim, painted in the famille rose palette. In excellent condition with discoloration especially around handle, indicative of an old repair. One central reserve with 2 men, otherwise surrounded by blue and white flowers and polychrome bouquet; rimmed with blue on white panels. Underside tagged with identification from at least 40 years ago. Dates to middle of 18th C. Very fine specimen. Height: 5"

An unusual octagonal Chinese lacquer stacked box set painted with black ground and elaborate gold designs featuring prominently the warring dragons and pearl motif on the lid, also repeated stylistically on the sides. Cabriole legs support a sunken base which supports 2 trays and a lid. Overall condition is quite good but as you will see in one of the photos, there is paint loss on the legs to varying degrees, the one shown being the most egregious example. The interior of the box is crimson...

A fine Chinese Rose Medallion ladle with a mother and her child seated together. The handle is subtly gilded with the standard famille rose palette. This example dates to c. 1820 and is in excellent condition. These small but wonderful items are hard to find, and such a treat when discovered. Dimension: 5" l

This turquoise based enameled color scheme accents the gold and silver elements of this finely crafted and detailed scholar's brush used to hold calligraphy tools away from the table or paper. It depicts crane and deer on a rock ledge among fungus. We believe this rest to be made of silver with gold enameling...

Sensuous and serene, this covered pewter jar is quiet, subtle, and sophisticated with it sparse plant motif which climbs up the wall onto the lid. The patina on a supple orange peel skin evokes soft tones of solitude. The underside is marked with Chinese symbols. Excellent condition in spite of tarnish. Dimension: 2 7/8"

A Chinese mutton fat nephrite jade pendant or toggle of Budai measuring about 2 1/2" long and weighing 86g. While primarily white in color, the jade has a few random russet sections on the side and rear, and evinces under strong light a faint subtle green tint. There is a hole which is used to thread for wear. Unmarked.

We present a fine Chinese Export porcelain armorial platter with unknown insignia but it is wonderfully enameled with royal blue and gold around both the rim and the top of the cavetto. The center of the plate features the owner initials amidst and draped beribboned shield. The orange peel finish exudes warmth of a distant past. This 18th century gem is in excellent condition. 15" l

With neo-classicism a dominating influence in decorative arts at the end of the 18th century, it is most natural that dinner service wares would follow suit with clean simple lines and decorations as we see in this Chinese export porcelain pitcher.

Its chief decorative elements are subtle molded shapes and contours in the helmet form and the spare blue and white enameling of its body...

Although it is smaller than other examples of this genre, this tea caddy packs a big punch with its gorgeous blue and white hand painted Chinese scenery. It depicts both natural scenery as well as different structures such as home and pagoda. The rim of the shoulder is accented with pale gold enamel.

The cannister is constructed of two halves fused together...

These compact matching diminutive Chinese porcelain covered jars pack a lot of color power, decorated as they are in the Famille Jaune palette depicting warriors in combat, one mounted on horse with spear, the others with swords and shields. The flaring base is decorated with multicolored diaper, the shoulder with flowers on a hatched design. The cover is mounted with a small foo dog. The sensuous baluster form and sinuous lines are quite pleasing, and the small form adds even more appeal...

This wonderful pair of porcelain Chinese prunus jars combines the famous cracked ice motif with "snowing" prunus blossoms which surround 2 reserves featuring perched birds in trees. Each tree is flanked with bats, an auspicious Chinese emblem.

The inspiration for this high quality design goes back to the Kangxi period, but these vases are Republic period of very fine quality...

A very warm and appealing Chinese porcelain blue and white jar with swirling leaf and vine decoration similar to those produced during the Kangxi reign. This example dates to about 1880, late in the Qing dynasty.

The cobalt is fine quality and the design will bring pleasant moments of contemplation.

The foot has old felt pads, and a somewhat ill-fitting lid (not shown)...

This magnificent and striking tureen is made of cloisonne having a slightly mustard yellow ground and beautifully accented with green diaper around the mouth of the bowl. The body is decorated with traditional Chinese emblems of good luck, and auspicious symbols such as the bat decorated with speckled blue. The blue dragon scaled handle atop the lid is embellished with brass buttons...

A lovely pair of Chinese sancai scheme enameled parrots perched upon an openwork stump. These birds are variously said to be roof tile ornaments or incense burners, but agree that the former is correct. They are Chinese export wares which were made in the 19th century to early 20th century.

Condition is very good to excellent with some very minor glaze flaking at the base...

This antique Chinese wood carving in rosewood depcits a mother and her cub with crisp and realistic detail.

Condition is excellent with dating to mid 19th C.
